I have always believed in the good, positive things. My mom always, always taught me about the law of attraction. I call her my “positive angel”. I used the LOA all my life without knowing. People used to say that I have a strong mind and wheel to follow my dreams.

I stumble across the Secret movie, by accident when I picked it up thinking that was a mystery movie. I was hooked to it as well as my husband. We both watched and enjoyed. We got all the excitement and thrills that many of us have experienced the first time you see it. We made new resolutions and made a plan to intentionally be positive and bring better things into our life. It worked!

During the good days the MAGIC happens: I got a call to go on research cruise, I visualized that my husband brought me a flower and I got my favorite chocolate, I had found money on the floor, unexpected good news, and even a week with no money for food it was dinner/ breakfast invitations all week.

However, slowly old habits and limiting beliefs crept their way back into my heart and mind. My “blue” days, as I call the days where I feel like I’m losing the battle (BUT NOT THE WAR), well the magic disappears. But I use those days as a reminder that “love is in the air”. The universe is even ready to pick me up in my “blue” days by sending me angels: my husband is more loving than other days, I received an inspirational email, or a coffee invitation with my close friends or a phone call from my family overseas and even the radio plays my favorite songs. OK so I guess the magic doesn’t disappear!! I am just too stubborn to see it! The mistake on those days is that: I left my guard down!

Anyway, in this journey I have learnt a lot, but two things really strike me: One is that the Universe will always, always give you what you want and MORE, and two the Law Of Attraction works across frontiers.

The first one has proven to me again, and again. The evidence is overwhelming. I wanted one simple flower and I GOT a HUGE piece of my favorite chocolate. I wanted a yoga mat to keep working out at home and I GOT a gym membership. I wanted the opportunity to go on a research cruise and I GOT the opportunity to go to two and maybe even three. I wanted to hear encouraging words from AN important scientist and I GOT emails, phone calls and comments from FIVE. And I can go on, and on. The Universe, always, always gives you more

The second thing is even more hectic!! And more difficult to explain, so bear with me. As I mentioned earlier my mom has always taught me about positive thinking, so that makes her a very, very positive person. However, the last couple of months she has been falling into fears and limiting beliefs and the “blue” days (oh yes! We all have them) are more often. She is a Pediatric Dentist and she has her own office. For many years she has been totally independent and making a really good living out of it. Last couple of months she listened in the news, friends conversations and radio about the economical crisis and how this is affecting the world. This evil negative thinking got into my mom’s positive attitude and slowly started to show in her world. Her patients started to cancel, or even worse they will come to her but not pay. Her appointments started to be less and less. At the beginning she said to herself, “This is good – I have more time to take care of myself ( positive thinking at work). She used the time to go to the gym more often and for longer, attended conferences, did more things around the house and had a better social life. Sounds all great, right? Well yes, but soon the patients were just a few and money was not coming in.

Finally my mom started to worry a lot, not sleeping and feeling very sad and frustrated. We have always been very close even though she lives in Colombia and I am now living in South Africa. We email each other often and I started to pick up on her moods and realizing that her letters were less and less positive. Then she finally told me how bad things were financially. So I asked my mom what she wanted (LOA strategy) and she said that she wanted about 5-6 paying patients daily. This is nothing because my mom used to have between 25-30 per day!! . So I told her, perfect 5-6 per day is very, very “doable”. We agreed that for a whole month (July) we were gonna wake up, be thankful for everything and visualize that 5 patients will walk into my mom’s office. Because time zones are different I wake up before her, so every morning after visualizing I emailed her with positive ideas and comments, so she will have a positive wave before heading to the office. I wrote in the Subject the amount of money she was getting that day, or that she will be happy to see Old patients returning.

The first week amazing!! After two days of this and my mom was getting her patients. The second week, old habits tried to creep in, BUT together the 3rth and 4rth week we had done very well!! It was amazing!! My mom was super happy, and I was in shock every morning reading her stories of what had happen the day before. It got to a point that the subject line that I emailed her came true every time… she ended up calling me “brujita” (in Spanish) which means “little witch”. We got a good laugh and things were good.

But our LAW OF ATTRACTION project doesn’t end there. Last week, she emailed me saying that she was very worried because she was getting an inspectional visit from the health department (They do this in Colombia every year) and last year was a disaster. The lady that visited her in 2008 gave her trouble because my mom didn’t follow recommendations (but not requirements) to change the office. It was very difficult for my mom because in 30 years of work she had never had problems. Since my mom didn’t agree with the results, she appealed. That was a nasty process with the government and lawyers. So now you can understand my mom’s stress this time.

So she tells me the visit is on Monday August 10th. So I emailed her again with the positive things, and this time I wrote in the subject: “Dr. Yolanda, we are very impressed with your office and we want to congratulate you for the high standards and great office.” In the email I told her about all the good things that her office represents to her, to me and to her patients. I remind her of all the love and passion that she has for her profession and how she had worked very hard for it. I told her she deserved a very good review from the government.

On Monday morning, I woke up and closed my eyes. I visualized my mom being happy, the visitor being nice, friendly and giving her the great review. I open my eyes and I gave thanks to the universe. What Happened?? I found an email Tuesday morning with my mom telling me that the visitor said the exact words that I put in the subject line! And that not only did the visit go very well, but that she got a call saying that she had won the appeal from 2008 review!!

I Am incredibly HAPPY!! I love to know that I cannot only use the LOA for my own benefit but also to help the people I love!!! Even across the ocean!!!! AMAZING!!

There is much more I am learning every day: how to be open to receive, or how limiting beliefs can be change, or how blue days are important for personal growth, etc. This is an AMAZING JOURNEY.
