Using The Magic To Land A Publisher.

New HampshireA newly published author with dreams of a literary life!
Hi world!
Today I’d like to tell you the tale of my long road to publication, and how I used The Magic to finally manifest my dream of being a published author.
I, like many people, have a mom who is obsessed with The Secret. I played around with it in college a little, getting close parking spaces in crowded dorm lots, finding bits and pieces of change I needed at the moment, little things. The truth is, I’m one of those people who have been using it all my life. If I wanted something, somehow it just happened. I got into every college I wanted, I even managed to change my entire high school experience from negative to positive by moving to a new place, it was amazing! But as we age, our dreams get bigger, and seemingly harder to attain.
Being a published writer was my mountain. When I was twenty, I told myself I would be a bestselling author by thirty. Then my twenties passed by and I wrote three books, and queried and queried and queried and faced piles of rejection. I needed an idea that would sell, so I could launch my career! So I read The Secret again in 2013. That summer a whole novel fell into my head and I wrote furiously for three months, falling in love with my new story every step of the way.
I edited. I queried. I knew that this book was the one. I was sure of it. A year passed with nothing but rejection. The following summer, I read The Magic. I immediately began practicing gratitude. I gave back. I counted all my blessings daily. I was able to get everything I needed for my baby before she was born. But still no literary agent. I began querying small publishing houses, and seeing that letter daily in my mind: We want to publish your novel!
In December of 2014, that email came. My novel is slated for publication on November 2, 2015, two months before I turn 30!
Look, I’m a millennial, and we love instant gratification more than anyone we know, but it took time to manifest this one. It took skill building. It took manifesting one step, one skill at a time, so that by the time my book was ready, it would be good enough to take on the world. If you’re scared that you’re not manifesting quickly enough, try breaking your goal up a little so you can climb a staircase to the top. I know my book is going to take off. I just do. And when it does, I won’t forget to be grateful for every moment of joy and struggle that led to success, and what comes after it.
Good luck everyone! I’m sending positive energy your way to help you live your dreams. Never, ever give up on them! And if you ever find yourself interested in a young adult book about reincarnation, look me up on the Amazon best seller list. 🙂
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
