The Universe in my Own Home
A few months ago, I adopted the practice of treating my Genie as a catalogue.
I’d create my Thank You Lists. Then when a particular request came to me, I’d write it on an index card and slide it into a sealed Banker Box. This box was my Genie.
The computer I type this on is 12 years old with a ponderously slow memory of only 9GB . Huge at the time, but now the turtles are whizzing by compared to this.
So I submitted a request to the Genie of the Universe that I wanted a new iMac computer that would have all the upgrades and features I need to work more efficiently.
Naturally I expected it within hours.
Yesterday my family and I had a celebration for my son’s high school graduation. Family in from out of town, a great party.
To my incredible surprise, they turned the table on me by also celebrating my 50th birthday a few few months early.
After all the guests had left, my wife and son and daughter gave me their Birthday gift to me….a brand new iMac computer. It’s in my office right now waiting to be unpacked. I had never come out and asked tor it. Only, yes it would be nice to have at some point, but never verbalized this….and yet the universe found the way through my own family to bring me exactly what I asked for. I am seldom speechless, but this one just took my breath away.
