The things you always dreamed about
I was 15 when I found a weird book in my dad’s bookshelf. I don’t know why I picked out that book out of the hundreds of books that are in that shelf… I remember thinking it resembled Dan Browns ‘The Da Vinci Code,’ which has been my favourite book for a long time. I picked up this funny looking book and read the backside of it. It said, “You can be, do or have anything you want.” That one sentence gave me hope and interested me, and since then I’ve been stuck.
I was an outsider, a loner, a loser, whatever synonyms you can come up with for a 15 year old girl who has no friends and never goes out. I was lonely, sad, and depressed. I did not know where my life was going. I wanted to be popular, loved, funny, attractive, and all those things. After reading The Secret a few times I started to bring the positive thinking in my life more and more. I remember sitting at McDonalds one day with my friend, and I said, “After this summer, my life will change drastically.” But after a while I forgot about the book.
The summer came and after I would be starting a new school. At first the times were trying. I had little to no confidence in myself and that people could like me for, well, me. But after a while, stuff just became better and better…
And here I am, a year after… I’ve had two boyfriends in the past year, A LOT of love interests, I can hardly count all my wonderful, loving, crazy friends who have all known each other since before but let me in their life like I’ve known then forever. I’m “the girl to get” and I just love life. I love my everyday life and weekends is where I come alive for real. I go out and party and I have had sooo much fun and sooo many memorable moments in the past year than I’ve had in my whole life.
Today I woke up and realized this was all because of The Secret. That one day when I just knew that my life would change, that this is who I was destined to be. That this was me. I just knew it! And thanks to The Secret, and universe… I know am this person and I have a life I can be proud of. I love me! And you should love you too! I’m so thankful. I can do, be, or have anything in the world. I’ll see you when I’m famous! xoxo
