First of all, let me say I am grateful for Rhonda, the whole team of The Secret, and everyone on this website who shares their stories that inspire me daily. I hope mine encourages and uplifts someone who is going through relationship trouble and is wondering if the perfect one is out there for them.

In 2004, before I knew about The Secret, The Magic or The Power, I was having the worst year of my life. I was a sophomore in college and on top of a very tough course in college, I was emotionally distressed because my parents were divorcing after 24 years of marriage. I was stressed and putting on weight, and felt horrible about myself and my life.

The one good thing I had at the time were a group of friends who supported me.

One day, for fun, we did an exercise to write out a list of qualities our perfect mate would have. I wrote things like he enjoys life, knows how to say I love you, cherishes me and we are comfortable together. I wrote three pages and at the bottom I put blue eyes, brown hair.

Then I forgot about the list.

In 2011, a co-worker pointed out a guy to me on a dating site I showed him. I messaged the guy and we started hanging out, nothing serious but we were so comfortable around each other we ended up doing everything together and then dating.

May 2014 I married him, and just found my three page list.

My husband fits everything on it! Even the blue eyes and brown hair!
