Ask, Believe, Receive
Submitted by: Kathryn Tate Jacoby
Richmond, VirginiaAn aspiring writer and artist, who has been following The Secret and sharing it with others since its inception. A mother, daughter, sister, and friend who believes in the power of positivity and love.
I wrote the following and posted it to my poetry site, poetrypoem.com/poetessktj, back in December of 2010. It has received more comments and praise than nearly any other piece I have ever written. The power of the law of attraction has worked in my life and I have shared it with many hundreds of others with this poem and with the example of my own life. Never striving to be filthy rich, or wildly famous, I have however, tried and succeeded in being an example to others in the power of positivity and light. Here is my poem:
ASK, BELIEVE, RECEIVE
What shall life give unto you
but that for which you have asked?
The things we reap within our lives
never hide behind some mask!
Nay, you say you’ve pleaded with
the stars to fulfill your wishes true,
but what about your inner thoughts â”
do they align with your longings too?
For whatever it is your thoughts are
Your reality then becomes
Be they positive or negative
Unto you they will always come
We plead for all our heart’s desire
In contemplations we express
To draw those inner yearnings near
Believe you deserve the best
For the world is full of abundance
If we allow it to come to us
Believing that it’s already ours
Is a matter of faith and trust
And when the things we aspire toward
Come fully within our grasp
We must simply accept those gifts
And dreams, for they are ours to clasp
So what shall life now give to you
but that for which you have asked?
Direct your thoughts, believe, receive
And in happiness you shall bask!

Many of the principles of the law of attraction are written among the holy books of many different peoples throughout history. It is a law just like so many others that the universe manifests according to the divine, but we often refuse to acknowledge it, accept it’s power, and align ourselves with the joy that is there for the taking. This is my simple, joyous way of life and with it I feel God’s grace each day.
