The job found me…
Submitted by: RZM
Wellington, New ZealandA whole new path has been opened for me....
I was in a job that I enjoyed (pay wasn’t THAT great but it was enough) and had taken me ages to find a job at all. I’d been there for almost 3 years. I started to realise that by the time I got home, it was late! There was no real time for my 2 school-aged boys during the week as they’d be ready to go to bed. Not to mention the traffic.
After many thoughts and talking this over with my partner, I took a risk and handed in a 3 months notice (plenty of time for the employer to find another staff not standard practice). I prayed that God or the universe would help me.
My ideal job was to be somewhere close to home, great environment with great people and NO traffic jams. I sent out numerous applications, went to agencies and had interviews lined up. The 3 months was coming up to an end and I still hadn’t found anything. I really wasn’t that worried because I knew that something would come up when I least expected it.
Long story short, the ideal job found it’s way to me. I was asked by my Temp agency to attend an interview. On that same day, received a phone call asking how the interview went and she said, “How would you feel if I told you that you’ve got it?” Flabbergasted, I said, “You’re kidding right?” And she said, “No, they enjoyed your interview, you personality, and would like to hire you. So, you start next week.” Woohoo, I celebrated that day with wine, cheese and crackers.
For some unknown reason certain signs kept popping up at me a month leading up to that day you know why, because these signs represented the kind of job I’m currently doing now and best of all it’s close to home (15mins drive compared to 1.5hrs), great environment with great people!! Everything I asked for.
I watched The Secret a few months ago, given to me by my sister. Don’t get me wrong, the Law of Attraction really does work in mysterious way (if you may call it that) and I have other events to prove this but that’s another story.
