I have been using The Secret diligently to create my life the way I deserve for over a year now. Many wonderful changes have occurred in miraculous ways, but I had to share my health story with you today.
I have been using a visualization and affirmation about health to improve mine. But I need to back up a little in this story. I’m 47, not at my ideal weight (yet), and had emerging health issues because of it, like borderline high cholesterol, increased fatigue, and “female” issues. I have enough extra weight to almost make two ideal me’s. That said, I decided that my real health goal was just that: great health. So I started visualizing my internal systems all working perfectly together, and I use this affirmation: “I am in great health. All my organs of assimilation and elimination work perfectly. I maintain my ideal weight and size and eat whatever I want.”
In a follow up appointment with my doctor about those female issues (which had the potential of being cancerous) yesterday, she told me that I was in great health. My cholesterol was 179 (I’ve been a little 202-205 for at least ten years), my thyroid functioned perfectly, my blood sugar and hemoglobin levels were good and my blood pressure was great. She said that I was in better health than most “normal” weight women of my age. And that female issue – nothing there.
I have created great health from the inside out. I have also been finding that I am naturally gravitating towards those foods and activities that support my goal of great health. There has been no sense of deprivation, no dieting or insane exercise schedules – just mindfulness when I eat. Rhonda notes in The Secret CDs that if we put our full attention on what we eat, she believes that we will assimilate our food perfectly. I agree with her, but it also eliminates mindless eating which I know leads to obesity. As I concentrate on each bite – enjoying the flavors and texture – I naturally eat less and take my time. I’m not perfect at mindful eating but I am getting there!
