I’ve been downsized 3 times since 2008 as a legal administrative assistant, fortunately I keep getting hired. This last time was torture! I was downsized in June 2010 and worked temporary work and received state unemployment benefits for 8 months! This was from a salary of 70K, my husband works on commission so my salary has kept us alive.

The last 8 months I stressed, was depressed and very nervous about being “a certain age” again in this economy looking for work. I sent out hundreds of resumes and while I kept getting work, I was still down on myself. I did not acknowledge how well I was doing just by getting temp assignments until January of this year. I started getting job interviews and I truthfully just got tired of feeling bad! Sad thing is I KNOW BETTER! I am always preaching to others about how to stay strong and be positive and forgot to do same for myself!

I went back to “my roots” and picked up The Power in January and took it with me to agencies. Once I did that it was very easy to get back into positivity. I started a gratitude journal and literally a week later I was offered the job I wanted! I am out of legal which was my main goal, and have an amazing new career as Office Administrator for an educational association. I am now using that same power to keep our apartment! We have one week to pay past rent or move, like I said I believe…. I plan to return next week and update that I am still living in apartment and the rental situation also worked out! I BELIEVE!!!!!
