My story is a bit long but trust me, it is worth reading. My life has dramatically changed for the better in just three months and I just can not believe it!

Three months ago my life was very stressful. I felt very unmotivated with my job. I would spend most of my time at work on Instagram and Tumblr. I was putting in as little effort as I could just to get by and to keep my boss happy. I was miserable because I felt like I had learned all I had to learn at my current position at work. I couldn’t consider leaving or applying for another job because I had applied for my PR (Permanent Residency) using my job and current position and I did not want to jeopardize my chances of getting my PR. Needless to say, I felt very trapped.

In addition, my living situation was a nightmare. I had moved in with a person who I thought was my friend. After we started living together, I found her to be hard to get along with and that added to my stress and caused a lot of friction and negative feelings between us. I would pray to be in a position at work to be able to afford my own apartment. But I did not see how that was possible since I was not making enough at my current position. I developed a very negative outlook and my self esteem suffered. I forgot to mention that all my family currently lives in Africa and I am all alone in Canada.

One day, I was watching old episodes of The Oprah show. They had Rhonda and some other people as guests on the show, who helped make The Secret a reality.  One thing they said that really resonated with me was that you have to be grateful, no matter what, and always keep a positive outlook on life.

It was hard at first but within a couple of weeks it became something more natural to me. I thanked God for my roommate and my current job. I started looking for cool things that I would put in my own apartment when I got one. I started emptying one side of my closet for my future man/husband and I also working out. Lastly, I started dressing more professional at work as if I had a better position. Believe me when I say that sometimes I felt so crazy to be doing those things because my current reality at that time was so different. But I didn’t quite.

Within a short period of time I met the most amazing man on the train ride home. We instantly had a connection. We have been dating for almost two moths and he is amazing! He makes me feel wanted and special.

I heard back from my PR application three days ago and my application will be moving a head!

My boss just asked me if I was interested in going for a course. Also, if I was interested in an Operations Assistant position which will be available later on this year. This job pays almost twice as much as my current job!

I still haven’t got to my own apartment but I have faith that I am on the right track. If you are reading this and you feel like giving up, please do not. Just have faith and act as if whatever you want is already happening for you.
