A couple of days ago, our two cats unlatched the screen on our window and got outside. Our cats are very different from each other. Ben is tough, street-smart, and outgoing. George is sweet, timid, and shy. Upon discovering their escape, I stepped outside our house and was able to spot Ben in our neighbor’s yard; he came to me right away when I called him. However, George was nowhere to be found.

George is an all-black cat; this coupled with his quiet personality made it difficult to find him. We searched for two days, and still nothing.

I read The Secret nearly one month ago, the day before my 50th birthday. I have encountered some wonderful results in this short time frame, and I constantly encourage my husband to think positively and attract all good things to him. My husband is particularly fond of George, so his disappearance was difficult. I continued to think positively, but of course I was concerned about the little guy. I wrote in my daily affirmations: “I am grateful for George’s safe return.” I was careful not to focus too much on ‘how’ George would return because The Secret is quite clear that the Universe (aka God) will determine ‘how’ something is accomplished; it is our job to remain positive that the task ‘will’ be accomplished.

Last night, at 1:45 am, our other cat, Ben, was meowing up a storm! I realized this may be my sign, so I got out of bed and stepped out onto our front porch. I didn’t see him at first, but our sweet, adorable, all-black cat, George, was sitting on my all-black driveway next to my all-black car!! It was awesome! I brought him inside and immediately woke up my husband. He was thrilled to see his little buddy, and we both started crying with joy!

It is exactly one month after I read The Secret, and both of our cats are home, safe, & sound with us. It’s amazing how much happiness pets can bring into our lives! And it is amazing the wonderful things I have encountered after reading The Secret and practicing its teachings for just one month. Life is wonderful! Live it to the fullest!
