Odd But Instantaneous.
I have 2 stories and both involve driving. Both happened on a 3 lane freeway as well.
1. I was driving home in the far right lane and there was a larger pickup beside me. They were slightly ahead of me, their rear tire was where my front tires were. I looked at them and thought, “I wonder if people just turn on their blinkers and go without checking their blind spots?” And take a wild guess at what happened. The moment the thought left my head, it must have entered theirs because they immediately turned on their blinker and pulled right into my lane. Luckily they switched lanes slowly, giving me time to slow down.
2. On the way home, I was on the far right, and someone was on the far left. I needed to go in the center lane to pass a car, and I thought to myself, “I wonder how often 2 people try merging into the middle lane at the same time?” And immediately I turned on my blinker and started going over, and coincidentally, so did the driver in the far left lane. We both saw each other and avoided an accident.
The fact that it was so instantaneous is what really blew my mind.
