Miracles Happen In My Life All The Time!
Submitted by: Chris S
Singapore / CambodiaI am a magnet for miracles and magic. I have had the pleasure of knowing about The Secret since 2010. The last 10 years of my life have been nothing but amazing!!
I want to share what happened in the earlier part of the year of 2020. So many miracles happened back to back at a furious pace, taking my breath away!
Shortly after the Chinese New Year, my mum had a minor stroke. She ended up being hospitalized for one and a half months and I was concerned about how much the hospital bill was going to be. In the end, after a government subsidy and her Medisave, I ended up only paying about $600 out of a 5 figure bill!
Going to Finland was on my bucket list as I had always wanted to see the Northern Lights. I had a trip planned for March. Initially, I thought I would have to cancel it due to mum’s stroke but since it turned out to be relatively minor, the trip went ahead as planned!
This trip happened just at the start of COVID 19. We were always the very last group to get to visit an area or enjoy an activity before the lockdown began the next day. Thus, except for Sweden, where we did not want to risk getting stuck for 14 days quarantine, we managed to strike off all the activities on our itinerary! I also got to see the Northern Lights!!!
Our flight back to Singapore was to be via Finnair on a direct flight. Due to COVID 19, 2 days before our return flight we were told that the direct flight was canceled and we had to transit via Bangkok. I was appalled by this as the Singapore government had announced that there was a compulsory 14 day ‘Stay Home Notice’ or SHN. This was for people who were coming into Singapore via Bangkok, even if it was a transit flight. I am based in Cambodia for work and simply could not afford to serve an SHN, as I had to return to Cambodia within 2 days after coming back from Finland! My tour guide’s hands were tied so I took it upon myself to go online to see what, if any, airlines were available.
There were only 2 airlines available. Those flights were either crazy expensive because people that were in Finland for the holidays were desperately trying to head home before Finland’s lockdown began, or, the timing of the flight would cause me to miss my flight back to Cambodia! I then found Qatar airlines and me and one of my friends managed to get a flight back to Singapore, at a reasonable price and with good timing. I was elated!
It was crazy as I had not intended to bring my laptop along for this trip but I am so glad I did. Checking out flights via a laptop was definitely easier and faster than if I had used my mobile. Without it, I do not think I would have found the flight on time. Thankfully I did, since the flight transited through Dohar, and I did not have to serve 14 days SHN upon landing back in Singapore.
On the day of my flight home, while doing our check-in, the staff at the Qatar counter informed us that our flight was the very last one before the Finland lockdown started the next day!
I then had a teeny, weeny little setback. The head of my department had informed me that due to COVID 19, my position was no longer required. I was very professional and polite about it. I seriously understood the challenges the company faced due to COVID. Even I was impressed at how calm I was about not having a job. Then, on the very same day in the afternoon, he called me back to inform me that I had my job back!
My initial flight had been canceled due to COVID. There was a mad scramble as I was supposed to fly back to Cambodia the very next day after I got his call! In the end, I managed to get flights back to Cambodia at a good price with my check-in luggage included too!
The next day at Changi Airport, I was informed that I was on the last flight back to Cambodia before the Singapore government locked down all incoming and outgoing flights!
In April, the Singapore government announced that they would give out COVID 19 aid and I received SGD $600.
This was the final part of my ‘Miracles’ story; I was in a calm and contented state when I made my claims on the Chubb-Amex website. I had expected to get a lot of follow up emails from the insurance company trying to verify my claim. This was what my friends told me they had to go through.
But guess what?!?
In less than 14 days after my reimbursement submission, I received an email notification from my bank informing me that I had been reimbursed $1159. This was the full price for my Qatar air ticket! No further questions had been asked. No submission of additional information was required. It was such a smooth and effortless process!
I had bought a one time, Chubb-Amex insurance policy for my Finland trip. There were 7 other people who went to Finland with me. They had all tried to get their respective insurance companies to reimburse them on the canceled trip to Sweden, only to be informed that their claims were denied. Even my friend who had flown back with me via Qatar airlines. She had signed up for a one year travel insurance policy but she had her’s denied too.
All of this happened within a time frame of one month! Miracle after miracle kept happening to me continuously. They were events and situations that others would have said were impossible, and yet they happened! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I am extremely thankful and grateful for how The Universe has repeatedly shown me that it will always have my back. I am blessed to have learned about The Secret 10 years ago. The last 10 years of my life have been nothing but amazing. Now I am a magnet for miracles and magic. It has really changed my life so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Thank you so much!
