My gift of joy

Before I was aware of the laws of attraction, it was already at work. About two years ago, a lot of negative events were beginning to plague my life. My beloved 6 year old Husky, Sheba, was diagnosed with mammary cancer, it metastasized, and a few months later she collapsed and had to be put down in July. In August my mother, who had been in a nursing home, suffered an infection, and over the course of treatment declined rapidly. When recovered from the illness she was never the same, and she told me she wanted to die. So, according to her wishes, the next time she became ill I requested no treatments, and hospice took over. She passed away a couple of months later. In September we also put down our cat of 16 years. My son was devastated.
Then the place where I worked, that we all loved and enjoyed completely, was sold right out of the blue, and the new owner was intolerable and everyone left over a matter of 8 weeks. In the midst of all of these transitions, while I was caring for my ailing Mother, and my ailing dog, I had been searching Siberian Husky rescue sites and submitted applications. I wanted to rescue, but I wanted a young dog, who could be spayed before her first heat, to eliminate the risks of mammary cancers.
One afternoon while at work, I heard someone calling my name, and when I looked up they were holding a 7 pound Husky puppy. “Someone just brought her in, asking if this belonged to anyone, she found her in the parking lot.” I couldn’t believe my eyes. I took her home, called every agency and police department asking if anyone had reported her missing. No one had. She just magically appeared, 5 days after Christmas, and 4 days before my 40th birthday.
She is my light and my joy. I wake every morning to a wagging tail and lots of puppy kisses. She sits next to me and lays her head on me every evening before bed. She is my salvation and I love her so. I’ve had 4 Huskies in my life, and she is by far the most devoted, loving, happy, and sweet one of them all. I jokingly say that I was visited by the Husky Fairy, but I know that it was the Powers That Be at work.
