I read the Secret at the beginning of this year. I first heard of the Secret when watching Oprah, but it wasn’t for many years later that the book actually came to me through a friend. While reading the book, I couldn’t help remembering when I first heard about it and thinking ‘I am getting that book.’ At the time I had no money to purchase it myself, so I was amazed when the opportunity to read it came to me.

After reading the book I immediately started manifesting things into my life, things like fishing rods, a dolls house for my daughter, a boat with all the gear for W/skiing and fun. Things I couldn’t afford but really wanted were appearing in second-hand shops and deals pages in the paper and everything was easily affordable for me. I really loved this manifesting thing but in the back of my mind I feared it was fluke.

People around me kept saying, ‘Man you’re lucky,’ ‘What a tin-arse’ and things to that effect. I was getting everything I asked for with relative ease but in every case I physically had done something to get them. The fear was beginning to slow my enthusiasm, so I asked the question and put it to the universe to show me the power of attraction working solely on my thoughts.

A few days later I decided to watch some TV on the internet I had missed two episodes of a program I really enjoy watching but as I entered the web address I told my self no matter what I would only watch one episode cause I had other things I really wanted to do that day and didn’t want to waste the day watching TV. As the program ended I was hooked. In my mind I was telling myself I can watch the next episode later – it wasn’t going anywhere – but my hand was moving the mouse to the next episode. Just as I clicked the icon for the next episode I heard a loud snapping noise outside. I looked out the window and saw the rubbish truck driving by when I turned back to the computer the ‘server not found’ page was displayed. I tinkered with the modem for a second then thought to myself, ‘That’s cool now I have to do something else.’

I went outside and to check the letter box as I got to the end of the driveway I noticed a wire hanging across the road. I found out it was my phone line and the reason my internet stopped working, the rubbish truck had caught it as it drove by and ripped it down. I know this was the proof I needed to be sure that I was actually using the LOA and not just fluking all the things I had received. A truck that drives down my street a least twice a week, takes out my phone line and leaves everyone else’s intact even thought it hangs right next to the neighbour’s. And at the exact moment I wanted to stop using the internet.

Since my realisation I have been regularly manifesting everything from money to possessions to events.

I have now changed my definitions of many negative words others around me use regularly to mean positive things for me and this has helped me create even faster. I spend 5 to 10 minutes each morning reading these stories. I now really indulge in them. They make me feel so great and I am grateful to all those who share their stories.
