I remember always feeling depressed and angry every day after school. I had very low self-esteem. I never had a boyfriend. I believed that I was fat, ugly, immature, and dumb. I was jealous of the preppy girls that I saw in school. I wanted to be as pretty and as confident as them. I knew I had to do something. I knew I couldn’t keep living this way.

I remember watching The Secret at my best friend’s house a while ago and decided to use it to boost my confidence in life. I made a list of everything I wanted to become and achieve. So, the next day, I went out grocery shopping with my mom and bought lots of fruits, vegetables, and other assortments of low calorie foods to have in the house. I also bought creams and lotions to cure my acne, dry skin, and teeth whitener. When I got home, I threw out all of my junk food.

For the next month, I looked at my list every day, made sure I had all of my homework and studying done every night, ate healthier and less, and exercised. It wasn’t easy, but using The Secret kept me going on and on and on. I slowly began to feel like I had more energy, all of my acne disappeared, and best of all, I lost fifteen pounds! Not only that, I started getting higher grades in school! It was so unreal how all of these things started unfolding at once since I started using The Secret. I felt like I was finally starting to blossom into the girl I knew I always could’ve been. All I had to do was focus on my list, use The Secret, and picture myself as a happy, healthy teenager.

I’m no longer the old Elyse. Now, I’m the newer and more mature Elyse. I’ve lost about thirty pounds, I still have never had acne since, my GPA is about 92%, and I’m always smiling. I’ve even made lots of new friends with my new found confidence. As for the boyfriend situation, I’ve gone on lots of dates since I started showing changes in myself, all thanks to The Secret. I feel like I can finally enjoy my time in high school and achieve anything I want if I try hard and focus on achieving it enough. I’m so thankful for everything I have now and for The Secret!
