I was on vacation in Maui with my ex-husband, his wife, our daughter, and their two kids. And yes… I said my ex-husband and his wife and kids. We have a wonderful relationship so we all vacationed together. Four days into a 10 day trip, my Drivers License was lost along with a clear travel bag. I called the hotel’s lost and found for a couple of days and then filed a police report with the local department just to be able to get back on a plane to Texas at the end of the trip.

Everyone was wonderful, and I had the police report in-hand. I spent the day before we were to depart reading “The Secret” on the beach while everyone else was on an excursion. That night, I said to myself, I’m going to try this on something small. I told myself, I’m going to find my license tomorrow, the flight is going to be great, and the trip will end wonderfully. I then verbalized it by telling my family. They, of course, looked at me as though I had lost my mind. I said, “No, really! They are going to find my license.”

We were packed and waiting on the bellman to bring a luggage cart. 30 minutes before we checked out, my ex-husband answered a call in our room. I heard, “You are kidding!”. I knew what the caller had said. When he hung up he looked at me and said, “They found the bag with your license inside.” I just smiled and said, I knew they would.

This is small, but it affirmed to me the power of positive thinking and believing in what you want.

I’ve told everyone about my little experience and the book. I’ve begun reading it for the second time to try to absorb even more. I have such a great outlook on life in general now, and will practice “The Secret” every minute of every day from now on.
