I work in a government department where we are allotted houses by our department to stay while we are in that particular city. I have been staying in Mumbai for the last three years, but I had been living in a small apartment. I had applied for a bigger house. There were some houses vacant, however most of them were facing the back side of the neighborhood. I was sure that if I applied, I would get one of them. As I have small kids, I thought it would be nice if I could get a house facing the front side. It is important to mention that there was only one house facing the front side.

One day I was visiting our family friends. At that time, I didn’t think that I believed in all these things… I thought that whatever is written in these books is already known to me. And that I don’t require all this knowledge. When I saw the lady of the house reading the book, I was surprised, as she, who doesn’t like to read anything, was reading “The Secret”. Upon inquiring what it is, she replied, “This is my Ramayana (the most revered book of the Hindu Religion), and I read it every day.” I was intrigued and started reading it myself. After reading a few pages from her book I stopped and said to myself, “This is all crap.” However, I think I believed somewhere in my heart that it should be read.

A few days later, I was passing through the market and saw the book. By chance (as they say the Universe conspired :)), I had money that day and I decided to buy the book. I started reading it and somehow I couldn’t stop till I read it to the end.

Then I thought, “OK, let’s see if I can apply The Secret on this house that I want.” I started with writing my name and address of the new house just as described in the book. Then I started believing that the house was mine. I went there. I couldn’t go inside since I didn’t have the keys, so I just touched the outer door and came back. I told my husband that when I return from the office I will go there first, and then I will come back to this present house. He agreed. I thanked the Universe in advance.

Sure enough, after a few days I got the inspiration to go and ask the person in charge of allotting the houses whether I had been allotted a bigger house. And he said, “Yes, you have been allotted the house on the front side.”!!!!!

I was happy and elated. I thanked the Universe. Actually I thanked God – both are the same, I believe. But to my pleasant surprise… I was not surprised. I knew in my heart that this has happened because of applying The Secret.

I am looking forward to shifting to that house in a few days. I have already bought and watched the movie “The Secret”. And I have started applying it to more and more things in my life. I thank God and I thank Rhonda Byrne for giving the whole world the opportunity to tap the potential they have.
