Gratitude.

Johannesburg, South AfricaI’m a 14 year old boy from Johannesburg. I love to play Water Polo and I enjoy doing Robotics and Photography at school.
When I first read ‘The Secret to Teen Power’, I wasn’t really feeling the vibe that The Secret claimed to have. I got the book as a birthday present at the age of 12 but it didn’t really interest me at the time.
One year later when my life seemed to be a complete flop, I found the book sitting on the top of my shelf. I pulled it out and blew the dust off of it and decided to give it another try.
Within a day of practicing all the activities and reading the book with complete concentration, my life started to change. If I wanted to buy something from the tuck shop on a Friday, my friend would ask me if I wanted anything to drink from the tuck shop! There were a few other things that I wanted and I always got. All I have to say is that when I got something that I really wanted, I would show affection and gratitude for that gift, be it a gift of a new phone, some extra lunch from my friend or even a gift of love. I showed affection by helping that person do something. I realized that I was assisting in a significant part of that person’s life and that’s what inspired me to carry on helping others and paying the gratitude forward!! Thank you!
