Let me first introduce myself. I am Shanel, and I live in the Netherlands. English is not my native language, so I am really sorry for the mistakes that I made, but I really needed to share my story with you all.

My story is about my appearance. There was a time in my life when I thought I was ugly. I compared myself to other people and thought, “OMG, I am so ugly.” I am a big fan of Katrina Kaif, a famous Bollywood actress. I really think that she is one of the most beautiful women on earth. So I always looked at her pictures and thought, “Wow, I want to be so beautiful, too!” That’s when everything started to change. I said to myself, “Who the hell said that you’re ugly?” That was when I remembered The Secret. I suddenly realized that I had been focusing on the thing I did not want!

So I started to read The Secret over and over again. I began searching for Bollywood stars without makeup, and I began to feel beautiful. I was beautiful, but I just did not recognize it because I was focusing on negative things that I did not want.

I started to feel good about myself, and I was planning to go to the Mac counter and get some contacts because I always wanted to have blue eyes. But there was one problem. I did not have enough money to pay for my contacts and for the makeup that I wanted to buy. Still, I did not worry about it that much. I said to myself that I would be getting both of the things that I wanted.

Then I listened to music, and I felt and imagined how beautiful I was going to look. I really did believe it!

And guess what??? My dad gave me 100 euros to go shopping, and I also got more pocket money from my mom!!! I just could not believe my eyes! Actually, I could believe it because the law of attraction always works! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

So I got to go to the Mac store. I bought some makeup, and I also got my contacts! I really look pretty and I also feel like I am pretty! And you know what the coolest part is??

Everyone says that I look like a Bollywood actress! Do you know which one? Katina Kaiff! I get compliments all the time now about my hair, my nails, and my perfect skin color, which is light brown like Katrina’s. And, of course, my eyes. I really love myself.

I hope that my story will reach all the young girls and boys who feel very insecure about themself. Just believe! From believing comes receiving.
