Elwood Finds His Forever Home.

Southwest FloridaWe live in Florida on the water and we love boating and traveling. We have one beautiful cat and my story is about him.
Our two previous had cats died of old age. Both of them died pretty close to the same time. It was another couple of years before my husband and I decided we would rescue another one. So, in the process of my search, I decided to get really specific for some reason about the cat we wanted. Some of the prerequisites were that the cat had to be male. He had to be mature. He had to be declawed because I would never do that myself. He had to have a combined personality of our two previous cats. He had to be a tuxedo. Too many “had to’s” but we were willing to travel any distance for him.
It took about a month and then, there he was. Sitting alone and scared on a bike trail far into the woods where we lived. There were no homes around for miles and miles so we didn’t know how he even got there. He was taken to our local shelter so if the previous owner would show up and inquire, they were given the chance to do so. The owner never surfaced and a few days later we were right at the shelter door, first thing in the morning to claim him. He is exactly what we wished for and is exactly what I pictured in my mind when I visualized the new feline entity who would live his life with us in his forever home. His name is Elwood. Thank you!
