Bring the noise!
I’ve noticed over the past months that a trend has begun within the believers and readers of The Secret, one which I believe to be fabulous. Many people have been contributing their “good mood” song lists and movie lists, and many have worked for me. And I have to thank everyone who has contributed a song or a movie to my heart, soul, and growth. THANK YOU ALL!!! You’ve helped make my life spectacular. And now it’s time I gave back. But first I would like to tell you a bit about how The Secret and your song and movie lists have helped me.
In the past year I’ve had 3 very defining moves in my life. First I moved out of my parents house to go live in a small room in a neighborhood I really like in Mexico City. Unfortunately the taste and joy of independence didn’t last very long. I was only there for 4 months. After that I had some bad months financially, and had to move back into my parents place. Not my greatest happiness. Don’t get me wrong, I love my parents and get along great with them, but I needed my space, freedom, and life to be my own. What I thought would be 2 or 3 months turned out to be almost a year.
Finally I moved out to a friend’s place a couple of moths ago. Since then, everything is starting to go my way. And all through this journey, I’ve had the music and the movies to help guide my steps, moods, and hopes. On the bus, taxi, or subway ride home, I always have my iPod playing those songs and some of my own. When I get home, I watch some of the movies many of you have suggested. So thank you for helping my dreams and life come true.
Here is some of the songs I’d like to share with all of you. Some are in Spanish, but even if you don’t understand the lyrics the music is very motivating.
“I Believe” from the soundtrack of the movie “Honey”
“Lost Highway” and “Radio Saved my life Tonight” from Bon Jovi
“When you were young” from the Killers
“Rule the World” from Take That. It’s also on the soundtrack of the movie “Stardust”
“Mariposa Technicolor” from Fito Páez
“Color Esperanza” from Diego Torres
“Sueños” from Diego Torres with Julieta Venegas
“Ya no estamos solos” from Eros Ramazzotti with Ricky Martin
“The Middle” from Jimmy Eat World
“Everyday” from Dave Matthews Band, espacially the video. You can look it up on YouTube.
I could probably go on but I think I’ll stop there. But here are some movies for you to enjoy.
“Peter Pan” the 2003 movie
“The Three Caballeros” it’s a Disney movie from 1945 with Donald Duck.
“Shall We Dance” the 2004 remake with Richard Gere and J-Lo
Just to name a few.
Be happy people, and I hope my story and those of others who believe may help you along your way.
