I watched The Secret and also read The Secret book in 2012. I had practiced using the law of attraction off and on since then.

In 2020, I realized I had lost my focus. With the Covid-19 pandemic, I found myself in constant worry over my health and the health of my family. My grandmother passed away from cancer complications during a spike in the pandemic, making it impossible for anyone to be with her when she died. It was devastating. A few months later, my mom was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor.

I felt lost and helpless. I felt as if walls were closing in on me. I could not sleep and was in a constant state of fear and worry. The only thing I could do was pray and beg God to help me out of this sinking feeling. A few months before, when my Grandmother passed, my friend had sent me some affirmation cards. I never even opened them and had stored them in my closet. Then one day when I was feeling very low, I opened my closet to gather some linens and there were the cards. I quickly opened them and the first card I pulled out was ‘The Angel of Healing’. I knew it was a sign.

I immediately remembered to use my faith and the law of attraction to guide me through this journey. I knew from The Secret that you must give thanks for things as if they have already happened. I also knew that I should not dwell on the negative and search for the positive in this situation.

So every day I would write down my prayers of gratitude. I gave thanks for my own health and my mom’s healing. I wrote, “Thank you now that my mom is cancer free.” I would feel excited for receiving it. I gave thanks for the medical professionals who were treating her. I gave thanks for everything I could think of. I also read the Angel of Healing cards along with my prayers. I was very selective about how many people I shared my mom’s diagnosis with. I only shared with a few close friends. I knew if I continued to talk about it then I would continue to give the fear, worry, and doubt, all of my attention and energy. I wanted to shift my attention to gratitude and faith in her healing. I also downloaded The Secret Super App and would read the Inspirations and quotes daily.

During this process, I also listened to The Greatest Secret and I continued to keep listening to the audio book whenever I felt the need to or wanted to. After a successful surgery and treatment, my mom had her scan. She called me and said, “Great news, I am cancer free!” She said the same exact words that I had been writing down for months! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I never told my mom that I was writing prayers of gratitude. My heart was full and my eyes filled with tears of pure joy and gratitude. I know now that my Grandma was with me every step of this journey. She was a faithful person and my mom’s healing helped my family through our grief. I am incredibly grateful to The Secret team.
