A raffle ticket
Just this past weekend I attended a carnival in my home town neighbourhood. Of course at every carnival there are penny tables and raffle tickets. One of the gifts on the raffle table was a beautiful hand made xmas mailbox, which stood at least 6’high. Beautifully decorated with a full base at the bottom, including a small tree, house, and village people. I fell in love with it. As I was purchasing my tickets I told the seller that I was taking that mailbox home today. She laughed. Standing right beside me, unknown to me, was the lady that made it. She shared with me how much she sells them for and would I like to have her phone number in case I would like to purchase one. I said, not necessary, that I was taking this one home. She grinned as well and I left the table.
An hour later they were doing the draws. All 110 items off the penny table first, and now they were doing the raffle ticket items. First went the DVD player, then the toaster oven, now they were drawing for the mailbox. With my back to the table, I faced my mother as the caller put her hand into the box. I said my name out loud. Just as I said it, the caller called my name. Was that an echo? I had won. As I went to collect my prize, again the lady that made it was standing close by. I gave her a big hug and thanked her for all the work she had put into it. I couldn’t have planned it that way if I tried. The law of attraction in action.
