I read The Secret when it first came out and instantly connected with the book. But it wasn’t until about a couple of years ago that I started using the free Magic Checks available for download on The Secret website. I’d printed out about 30 and every day I’d fill them out and place them in a special box. Life got in the way so I stopped writing the checks and forgot about the box tucked under my desk.

The other day while searching for something, I came upon the box and decided to go through it. I found the checks and with some amusement, decided to read what I had written. I was expecting silly little things here and there, but what I had not expected was to find that half of these checks had actually come true!

The first one I picked up was a check I had written to my mother for $1,000. My mother makes little money and I was determined to start making enough with my writing career that I could share my income. Imagine my shock when I saw the check I’d written about a year and half ago. Why was it shocking? Just this last mother’s day I had made enough with my career that I decided to give my mother $1,000, having completely forgotten about the check.

The next check was for $4,000 to go to Disney World. Just last June we were able to go to Disney World for a week long vacation.

Another check was for a few thousand so we could visit Charleston, SC. Not surprisingly, we went to Charleston last Thanksgiving.

Another check was for $20,000 to go on a wonderful tour overseas to the UK. Just a month ago I made enough so that we actually signed up for an amazing tour of Ireland! Not exactly the UK, but I’ll take it! The amazing thing is that I had estimated the tour would cost, you guessed it, $20,000!

And last, but not least, I found a check that I had written to myself for $100,000. This year, because of a successful writing career thanks in part to The Secret and Rhonda’s other books, I’m scheduled to make at least $100,000. Two years ago I had only made $3,000 with my writing!

As you can imagine these checks were shocking to a person who had forgotten they existed. Not all the checks have come true, but I have no doubt they will. Meanwhile, I’ll be busy writing more magical checks! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
