I remember starting writing my story here a few years back. I did not manage to finish it, but today I feel more mature. I feel I understand better now.

I was seventeen and had an accident in a club. Drunk, smoking cigarettes, I fell down the stairs and hit my head really badly. My brother, who got to me quickly, said that my heart wasn’t beating, my chest was still. It took about a minute to wake me up and he said it was miracle, he thought I died. And actually, after few days I felt like I was born again.

I was held in the hospital for a few days, the doctors were saying I could have broken my neck. Surrounded by criticism and hatred (How could you drink alcohol? You are so stupid, but so lucky!) I I “locked” myself inside my mind. Unlike all others who were saying “What if you actually died?” I was thinking how grateful I am for my life! Not even once did I think about “not being” or my parents’ possible grief. I just kept thinking what I will do, learn and who I will talk to when I get out of the hospital.

The first day I went to school after the accident I was standing on the bus stop. The bus was late about 20 minutes and the bus was packed with people. Everybody around me was swearing how hot it is, how late the bus is, how late they are and I was just happy I could get to school and have the bus to get me there quickly.

The best thing is I didn’t heard about The Secret at that time! I was focusing on beautiful, happy things, on my friends and my needs. I didn’t let the accident overwhelm my life and turned it into an amazing gift, a gift of life.
