My friend in Toronto sent me a book called The Secret. He attached a letter to it saying that I would enjoy this very much. I had no idea what it was about, but I opened it and could not put it down. The knowledge of The Secret enthralled me: I had been using this my whole life, but I never knew that it had a name!

Well, I was born into a well-to-do family so money wasn’t a problem for me. But I went to boarding school when I was younger, so we could not travel as much as we would have liked. One day, I was flipping through a magazine and I saw a beautiful picture of two people hiking in the Swiss Alps. I told myself that I would go there someday, hopefully soon.

Two weeks later I had lunch with a very good friend of mine, Nicola. She told me that she had been planning a holiday to Switzerland in the summer, but her sister canceled at the last minute. So, she invited me to go with her! I immediately said yes, and I felt so grateful that she had asked me on this trip. I came home and wrote in my journal about all of the great things we would do in Switzerland, and I got really excited! I imagined being in the mountain, surrounded by wild flowers and chalets and fresh air. It was a fantastic dream, and I was really excited! I felt it in my heart that I would go, that this was the universe answering my wish. Then, I let it go and moved on to other things.

So a few months passed and at last, Nicola and I were in Switzerland. We were having a great time hiking, going to the spa, and enjoying the views. And guess what? My dream of being on the mountain with the beautiful scenery came true! It was the exact image that I had in my head! Well, that was four years ago. Since then, I use The Secret all the time. I enjoy life more now. Every time I read the book or watch the movie, it puts a smile on my face.

My next big dream is a trip around the world. I would like to visit Mexico, India, Thailand, Russia and Japan among other places. This will be the ultimate trip, and I can’t wait for it to happen!
