My Automobile Workshop Goal
Submitted by: Akin Thompson
Lagos, NigeriaI am Akin Thompson, 35 yrs old, a Nigerian living in the city of Lagos. I am married to a lovely woman and we have 2 children. I work as a Project Manager with Ericsson, I have been working on this job for 2 years now. I have been working in the telecommunications industry for about 9 years now. I earn a salary of about $36,000 per annum on my job. My parents are still alive, which is also a miracle, after both surviving gunshot wounds to their heads in a robbery attack. My parents-in-law are also alive. My interests include automobiles, powerlifting and teaching young people.
I bought ‘The Secret’ book and audio CDs two months ago and i listen to the CDs when i am on my way to or from work. My level of fulfillment has greatly increased since then, even as i strive to love everyone around me and maintain a positive attitude to living.
I have desired to own an Auto repair workshop, but the costs of accomplishing this have seemed daunting. Two weeks ago, i was discussing the idea with a friend who is a banker, andhe has been very interested in investing in the venture. I then set out to get a piece of land where operations could commence; i ideally wanted a place within the high-brow area of the city since our primary target customers are owners of expensive vehicles. I paid a visit to a senior colleague who is also a mentor to me, without the intention of discussing the automobile workshop. He reminded me of a discussion we had 2 years earlier on settin up a workshop. He said he had a piece of land in a high-brow area which he wanted to use for a football field, since the government Planning authorities had said no permanent structures were to be installed or built on the land. The property is about 3,000 sq. metres and it will be his own investment to the venture. This means the resources are almost completely in place for setting up a dream workshop.
I presently believe that i will receive $300,000 so that i will resign from my present job and run the workshop.
