Manifesting a whole new life

Two years ago, I was at a pretty low point. I had just been fired from my job as a newspaper journalist. I was known to many of my coworkers as a hard worker who was good at noodling out the news. But there was an editor who’s management style was frustrating, both because he was disrespectful and wrong-headed. Not just to me, but everyone. Well, rather than focus on what I loved about my job, I crabbed to everyone who would hear that he was a jerk. I made little jokes about him, which amused my coworkers and with which they often agreed. But unbeknownst to me, it was setting me up for failure. I was fired – probably because of my negative attitude.
Still I didn’t learn my lesson, and I managed to mess up the next few months as well.
I was living with a man whom I loved madly. I thought he was my soul mate and would do almost anything to keep our relationship. I was afraid he would leave me because I thought he was perfect for me.
I was also afraid of being poor – and had had money troubles for years. But I was hired by a friend as Communications Director of his business, and was paid a very nice salary.
Then, my negativity caught up with me. I lost my new job on February 9, 2007, because the company went bankrupt. That afternoon, my boyfriend told me he wanted to end our relationship.
By February 10, I was back in my old condo and I thought I had nothing. But I had seen, on February 8, the people responsible for The Secret on Oprah Winfrey. In fact, I had told my boyfriend’s 14-year-old son just before his dad broke up with me, that if he believed he would win his ski competition he would. (“I think you watch too much Oprah,” he said.) He did win.
That day, I began to change my life.
When I wasn’t curled in a ball crying, I watched The Secret obsessively. I made a vision board with a wonderful country home, a beautiful relationship, the perfect figure, and success on it. Every time doubt started to creep into my mind, I would watch The Secret again or read the book. I stopped watching any television that was negative. I wouldn’t read any books that were negative, and I only listened to The Secret in my car.
I worked with several people who specialize in the Law of Attraction to reprogram my thinking. And I began to see results. I started to attract money, the right people to help me in my new business, and the right situations. And 10 months after my breakup, I attracted a man even more perfect than the one before. He’s sensitive, handy, smart, successful, and a positive thinker! He’s been reading books about The Law of Attraction for many years, and, when I introduced him to The Secret, began keeping journals and meditating right along with me. I had set a goal date of February 14, 2008, to meet a man I felt was a long-term relationship. We were engaged that week!
Now we are working to create a wonderful equestrian farm and event venue. We have found the place, live on the property, and have written an extensive business plan. We’ve found all the people we need to make it happen, except an investor. And we know that person is coming to us, and we are grateful that he or she will come at exactly the right time.
I am so grateful that was I was able to change my life so late in the game (I’m in my mid-40s), and that my life is so terrific. Thank you!
