Hello!

My name is Amelia and I live in Sweden. I�m 14 years old and I�m beginning ninth grade this autumn. I love science – it makes it fun to be in school, and it�s all thanks to our teacher Amanda. She came to our school two years ago. Everybody liked her from the beginning – she turned the subject to something interesting and fun.

In April we got a terrible notification; that the commune would fire 46 teachers and Amanda was one of them. It was like a punch in the face. Everybody was very upset. And when we went to the principal she said that it was 100 per cent certain Amanda was going to be fired. My friend told me that we should protest together, and I accepted, though all my hope was gone, and I was very sad. All my hope had vanished.

My Mum had read The Secret a couple of weeks earlier, and she told me to use The Secret to keep Amanda. I was so desperate that I read the book. I made a visualization board, and I visualized very often. I also pretended that I already got the message that Amanda will stay. And then I was grateful. When I read that part about gratitude, I suddenly saw the world in a different way. I got aware of how grateful I actually was.

After a while I thought this process was very fun, and I enjoyed it. And all the time I tried to have fun, doing stuff I liked, and that made me feel good, like: being with my friends, playing flute and volleyball.

At the same time my friend and I made a list of names that we got together with a letter we would send into the commune as a protest. Everything went very well. Both parents and students wrote their names on the lists and we got many names. We were also in the local newspaper.

But all the time we got comments like: �It won�t work.� �Do not hope too much it probably won�t work.� Or, �Do you really think this will work?�. But I didn�t listen to them, because I already knew that Amanda would stay. I wholeheartedly believed in The Secret, and I promised myself that I would tell my story for you when I got to know that Amanda is staying.

And it happened. It was exactly a month later when Amanda told us that she could continue to work at our school. I was so grateful and happy, and I�m still very grateful about it.

That�s why I�m now sending you this letter, to tell you my story and say how grateful I am that you have done a movie and a book about The Secret. It brought my hope back. Thank you so much!
