Covid-19 Lockdown Was A Blessing In Disguise For Me.

Pat, IndiaI am a dreamer.
Well, I came across The Secret book when I was just randomly searching for good books to read. I never go by people’s suggestions or with the trend when it comes to books and movies. They just come to me and become mine.
The first time I read it, it was like, gosh! I have been doing this since childhood; visualizing and writing in my diary about my wishes; completely unaware of the law of attraction. I have numerous stories to tell but the latest one is about the lockdown period.
I had been staying far away from my hometown for years. First for my MBA and then for my job. I could hardly manage a week of holiday time. Deep down I used to crave family love and having hangouts with cousins. I would think, “How lucky are they who work in their hometown, living with their family?” Still, I was thankful that I was leading a very comfortable and happy life despite being away from family.
I would visualize staying with my family and that my elder brother was there too. That I was working remotely or on some projects that I could do from my hometown. I sometimes thought if I switched to a different company I would take some time off and live with my family for a month or two.
Fast forward to March of 2020. Covid cases started rising in India. I had a ticket for the 20th of March to go home for a 1 week holiday and 1 week wfh. The national lockdown was declared to start on the 22nd of March. Day by day people knew it was going to be difficult to travel. I too was advised not to go. My flight got canceled and the airline informed me really late, but hello! I already saw myself on the flight so I knew the Universe was gonna conspire for me. Almost every 3rd flight was getting cancelled. I booked another flight for the 21st. If that got canceled it could be way more difficult to travel as there were no other flights for the day. But I knew it would not be canceled and it wasn’t.
I reached home safely and was ready to stay in quarantine at my home, my happy place. I thought this situation of panic would remain for a few days. But just 2 days in, an extended lockdown was announced for the next 15 days. Wow, 15 more days at home! Lockdown extended again and again and again! It had been 3 months. We thought it would end now and offices would resume work. But no, of course, we all know what happened.
It is now a year later and I can say that I am living with family! Maa, paa, bro and me, together after a long time! I am also working so my salary is coming in. I had the most wonderful time with my cousins during this time. So many memories to cherish.
I know it has not been the same for others. In fact, it was a crisis we never expected. But this pandemic proved to be a blessing for me.
The irony is that I always wanted to live in a metro city, living a bachelor life and independent. And now all I want to do is go back to those school days of living with my family. Life is strange but fabulous too!!
Thank you to the Universe for everything. Keep visualizing and love your parents as they are our God in disguise.
