Career Change In 2008 Was The Impossible Dream!
Submitted by: The magician PG
India/USI was born in India and have traveled all over the world. I have always been a dreamer.
My story is a bit long but I hope it helps others who have a goal that seems impossible to achieve.
The year was 2008, when economic depression had set in and layoffs and struggling businesses shutting down, was the norm. I was married back then in a long distance marriage for a few years, with a very successful career in India. I decided to leave my job in that difficult year to move to the US for the relationship.
For a full year, I visualized my dream job every day. I felt it, I cried for it and I celebrated it even before it happened. Every time I sat down to visualize, I always saw myself joining a job in Times Square, walking on the NY streets. The funny thing was, I was living in a suburb in PA with no connection whatsoever to NYC. I didn’t even know anyone in New York.
Along with applying all The Secret tools, I applied to an unknown number of jobs, reaching out to an unknown number of people on Linkedin, and created a back up plan. I had a date cut off, if I did not get a job by that date I would enroll in some kind of a study or course.
Within 15 days of the cut off date, and having already purchased the material to start studying, I magically got a call from this company who was my first employer in the US, and from there on I went on to build a sustainable career in NY.
If I have to list the odds against me, no US education, no US experience, no US connections, the year 2008, the list would be endless. But absolute blind faith and infallible focus and work made me get there.
Trust me, if I can do this, you can. Just believe in it and let go of the shape and size it will come in. Just keeping showing up!
