Free Ride

Vancouver, British ColumbiaI am a college student and part time travel consultant.
This happened after watching and reading The Secret. I entered myself into a major city run. I woke up with my things ready and my mind in good spirits. My mom drove me to the train so I could meet with the other runners. I asked her if she had change for the train, since I realized after leaving the house I didn’t have the right change. She gave me twenty dollars and told me to bring back the change. She smiled at me then said, “Too bad the train isn’t free today, since so many people are running.” I agreed with her, then got out of the car. I put my money in the ticket machine, but it did not accept the bill. After numerous tries, I decided to get onto the train, and if an operator asked me I would explain to them what happened. However, the whole ride to the run, there was no operator to be seen. When I got off on my stop, I went up the escalator to where the runners meet. There was an announcement that runners should buy their return train tickets home before the run. So I went to a machine, and tried the twenty dollar bill again. Again, this different machine would not take the money. Luckily, this time I saw a train operator, and explained to him what happened. He tried the bill as well, and realized that it was an old crumpled bill that machines sometimes cannot take. Then he smiled, and handed me a free ticket to the train. He also gave me the twenty dollar bill back, and told me not to worry about it. I finished my run and came home. I was very happy with my day. My mom met me at the train, and before she asked I handed her the twenty dollar bill back. In shock she asked,”What happened?” I replied, “The Law of Attraction.” I still have the train ticket from the operator to remind me how wonderful the Law of Attraction is. God Bless.
