I learned about The Secret from a new-age magazine article I happened to pick up one day.

Very quickly I was able to make small improvements in my life, including my health and weight. Physical things I’d been thinking about started coming to me unexpectedly, such as a glass candy knick-knack that I had admired at my friend’s house. The one that came to me on a give-away table at church was 10 times the size of my friend’s, along with wooden sculptures of two words: “dream” and “believe”. I put these on my dresser where I could see them from my bed, and put the glass candy in front of “believe” to remind myself that huge treats were coming my way and all I had to do was put them in my mind!

The one thing I had really been wanting was a good partner in my life. I’d had a crush on a friend of mine for years. He was exactly the kind of man I was looking for, but he had been married for many years, so we were platonic.

Then one day out of nowhere, he told me he had separated from his wife, and we started seeing each other. I was so happy and put our picture on my vision board.

However, I soon found out he was dating other people also, including another mutual friend. In past years this would have bothered me immensely, but instead I felt a profound sense of peace that everything was happening as it should and all was well. I had no anger or sadness, and didn’t even cry.

I put our picture away, under my glass candy. I attended a week-long festival where he was present and remained friendly, but also kept myself open to other possibilities.

We lost track of each other within the first few hours, but immediately I ran into other good friends who I spent the day with and we camped out together. As soon as they left the next morning, I ran into more folks I knew, and even made more new friends just by happening to be in the right place at the right time.

People just kept showing up at the perfect moments! I was able to help several folks in need, and was so grateful I was able to do that.

The rest of the week, during the remainder of the festival, I met so many other men that fit the bill of what I was looking for in a partner. Some were even many years younger than I am, and that I would not have expected! It even worked out that none of them were really aware of the others, even in the same room, so it wasn’t awkward or uncomfortable. I have more options for a good partner than I could have imagined and can’t wait to see what happens.

It is truly amazing how perfect things worked out. Not only for that week, but in so many other areas of my life, since I have learned and practiced The Secret.

I have a much better relationship with my son, and I try to practice gratitude every waking hour of the day. I got a promotion at work. I am happier than I’ve ever been and I try to share my happiness with others, as well as The Secret.
