Believing in myself
Submitted by: Pam Y.
Anson, ME56 year old female, married with two grown children.
A few years ago, one of my sisters shared with me a book she had been reading, which was The Secret. She told me how it worked and that I should try living by believing in myself. At the time, my husband and I were going through some rough times both personally and financially due to the loss of my job. I wasn’t sure if this would help me or not, but I gave it a try. After a few months of trying to find another job, I finally landed one. It was supposed to only be for the holidays, but two days before Christmas that year I got the best present ever – the offer of a permanent position with the company. Next month makes five years that I have been with the company and I am so glad I took the chance on taking the temporary job.
After a while, I felt confident in myself and put the teachings of The Secret on the back burner, so to speak. Needless to say, life has thrown some curveballs our way and we have struggled to figure out how to make a go of things. But we will make it as long as we continue to think positive and that good things will happen for us.
Fast forward to about a month and a half ago. I received notification from a company that I did business with about a year ago that I was finally going to receive an overpayment refund due me (even though my husband thought we would never see the money). I had been trying for months to get the money returned so one can imagine my delight in finally getting it back! Plus a few days ago, I received a check in the mail that was a refund from another company. Again, money I hadn’t expected to receive. All this started happening once I started to believe in the power of myself and that good things do happen when you think positive.
Thanks Rhonda for your powerful book and message. I am going to continue to think positively in order to live life to the fullest. You’ve transformed a so-so thinker into a very positive believer that good things happen to those who who trust in themselves. I’m going to use my positive thinking to make life better for myself and my family.
