Inspiration?
Submitted by: Ron P.
Vancouver, BCI'm 41 years old, married with two daughters. I run my own business and enjoy sports, family time, outdoor activities and staying active.
I have recently been introduced to “The Secret” and I’m contining to attempt to grasp many of its concepts. I’m enjoying going through this process and I’m looking forward to the oncoming changes in my life.
I have spent quite a bit of time reading your stories and the following comments and I find them truly inspirational. I love reading to see how The Secret has helped so many people and is waiting to help so many more once they develop its practices.
Here is my story. In 2007, I opened my own business which began better than anything that I could have ever expected. In late 2009, I started to see a gradual slow down and last year my business was virtually in-active. I started reaching out for new career opportunities but after several interviews with potential employers, I never received one job offer. I started talking to friends and reached out and I discovered that I have turned into a pretty negative person. This isn’t me and I didn’t see it all!!! Everything in my life (job, finances, marriage, friends, etc.) seemed to spiralling downward. Once I noticed this, I knew it was centered around the lack of employment. I have always been that person in the office that will go the extra mile, help out when others won’t, put in extra time or help out with whatever needs attention. So, this past years has been a little hard for me to say the least.
As I mentioned above, I was introduced to The Secret about a month ago by a close family member. He knew many of the challenges I was facing and this has helped me so much. I’ve watched the movie a few times and listen to the audio book regularly in my car. Since, my business has picked up and I have received a job interview. I’m definitely grateful that my business has picked up but I’m not convinced that it’s an industry that I want to stay in because the workload is so up and down. Also, I would like the security of working for an employer again and with that usually comes a pension and benefits.
I still have not heard back from my interview but I’m using all the tools of The Secret to get this job. I used to say, “I hope I get this job.” Now I say, ” I know I’m getting this job!” Like others, I’ve even planned my route into work along with going shopping for new business clothes. I found it interesting when doubt started to creep into my head and I turned on the audio book in my car one day. It wasn’t a minute into the audio when Rhonda said, “if you doubt anything in your mind replace it with I know like I know I know….”
I also wrote an exam last week to move my career in a completely different direction. Unfortunately, I wasn’t successful and I was pretty disappointed. But, my disappointment only lasted a short period of time when it would have consumed me in the past. I’ve learned the power behind positive thinking and I’m looking at this as “things happen in life for a reason.” I’m not sure what that reason is yet but I know if I continue to use the power behind The Secret I will know that “reason” in no time.
I’ve seen some of the powers of The Secret in the past work for me. A close family member even posted her yearly goals on the mirror in our bathroom so she could read it everyday as she got ready for work. I would say she reached nearly every goal. I’m not sure why I haven’t continued to pratice these things but I’m changing!
I love reading your stories and I can’t wait to share an incredible, life changing experience of my own. I suppose I’m looking for some inspiration here myself. Thank you so much to everyone!
