It must be Magic…!
Submitted by: Val D
Dartmouth UKGrateful for my wonderful husband and family, my good health and for being lucky enough to live in Dartmouth and help my husband run our guest house business.
I have just finished reading The Magic, which my daughter had sent to me earlier this week (thank you Laura – yet again…). I’d decided to read the whole book through first before doing any of the exercises to give me an overview, which will hopefully give the exercises more power once I start them. Anyway, I put down the book and immediately went to check my e mails, and felt inspired to sprinkle some ‘magic dust’ on my laptop before I started and just see if there was anything in my inbox that I could be grateful for.
The first thing I saw was my screen saver – a photo of my two young grandsons – so I immediately felt grateful to have such special little people in my life. Then when I checked my mail, instead of deleting the unwanted messages as I usually do, I read them. There was an inspirational one about a free online course for women which I would otherwise have missed, an interesting one about health and exercise which I will find very useful and which inspired me to start walking regularly again. And an informative one with a book review of a new book I had heard about but hadn’t had time to check out. So – three things to be grateful for straight off!
Then I opened a forwarded message from a friend I had not seen in a long time, so I felt grateful for her friendship, and it was a funny one so I felt grateful for the humour which cheered me up, and also grateful that she had thought about me enough to send it. I’ll probably never look at ‘spam’ in the same way now… I’m planning to start the exercises later today but must of course do my ‘chores’ first, (grateful for the health and strength to do them!).
Just as a final sign that I’m on the right track, if any were needed, I was humming one of my favourite songs as I got dressed an when I turned on the radio – yes, you’ve guessed, it was playing! What more can I say – it must be Magic… Thank you Rhonda for another wonderfully inspiring book, and love to all at The Secret. Thank you thank you thank you! xxx
