My story begins in March of 2009 when I was working at McDonald’s. At the time I was being trained to be a manager (something most people in my place would love), but for some reason I wasn’t really up for the job. At this point in my life I was split into two worlds. One world I was this great kid full of love and happiness. In the other world I was bitter and full of hate. As time moved on the other world started to take over and I started stealing and acting out. I was caught at work stealing and I was fired.

At this point in my life I stared to feel depressed. I started putting myself down more and more every day as time rolled on. I was to a point that I had no reason to live. I was useless and my family wasn’t helping, my dad was always putting me down (I never really had a good relationship with my father). I got into drugs, I never came home, and I was always up to no good.

One day as time rolled on my mother had told me about The Secret. She had the video and she told me to watch it. Having nothing else to do I decided to watch it. Feeling at the time how I was, I wasn’t so into it. I watched it and nothing. At the time it didn’t really register so I paid it no mind (looking back at it now the video planted a seed in my mind that was going to take some time to grow).

Time passed and I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. I would just smoke and stay out late, with no worries of what would be the outcome of a life like the one I was living.

My mother was getting tired of my just throwing my life away so she decided that enough is enough and tried to find a way to help me out. She had a friend tell her about a free school that would help me in my situation. Her friend had told her that the school would give me a place to stay at, they would feed me, also I would be getting an eduction in any career of my choice, and all this for free. At the time I thought this was too good to be true, there had to be a catch. And there was… and that was that I would have to get away from all my friends and away from all the drugs. For the first time in a long time I had something to go for and even with the catch (which I wasn’t really stressing about) I had something that’s going for me. At the time I didn’t know it, but The Secret was hard at work.

I started school September 14 2009. My mother dropped me off and we said our goodbyes. My time at the beginning was hard and I was going through a lot of changes, good changes but as well bad… mainly bad. I felt that life at Job Corps was bad for me, it was something different, something new that I did not understand. But there was something in me that didn’t let me give up something… that kept me going.

As time passed on I began to see the bigger picture of why I was here. I began using every opportunity that was given to me here to make it easier to live here. I joined groups, I did activities, and I began to enjoy it and to be happy. At this point in my life a new world started unfolding. I started to understand life and to appreciate the little things. The Secret started to show itself more and more in my life and I didn’t know it.

At this point I started to read books on how to get rich. That’s when I found this book called Think and Grow Rich. As I started to read the book a lot of the information sounded familiar, but at the time I didn’t know from where. I started to ask myself if this works for money, would it work for other aspects of my life as well? As I started asking questions, I walked by the bookshelf my sister had, and for some reason this book popped out at me. And there it was… the answer to my questions… “The Secret”.

As I read the book I began to understand everything that happened in my past and why it happened. It was all leading up to this point. I had to go through all that good and bad to experience and understand what true happiness and joy is.

I was nearing my end at the school and I didn’t know what I was going to do now. I was starting to feel like my old self and I was getting scared that all my hard work was going to go to waste. Just when I was going to let those negative thoughts back into my head, I caught myself and changed it around. I asked myself, what is it that I want to do? That’s when this lady came up to me and asked if I wanted to continue my education. That’s when I realized that my question was answered.

I was told that there was one spot open for four people and I was the one of the four chosen. I used my knowledge of The Secret to get that SPOT.

I am thankful every day for the knowledge of The Secret. I am gratefully thankful for the opportunities I had and will have, to be the person that I want to be. I continue to use The Secret every day in my life. I have faith and believe in myself more then I ever have and that’s all thanks to The Secret. I believe that The Secret can and will help anyone and everyone who is willing to accept it in their lives.
