I use to suffer from low self esteem as a child leading up to adulthood. I was somewhat shy and standoffish. I use to let opportunities pass me by on a consistent basis.

One day in 2007 I was in the mall walking aimlessly around wasting time and stumbled upon a book store. I went in the book store and was lured in by the title of the book The Secret. I picked up the book and began to read and instantly my attention was captured by the details in which this book described peoples stories. I then went home and Googled the books title and to my surprise a video of the book popped up. I looked at the video in aw of what I saw. At this point I was convinced practicing The Secret worked.

I began on my journey to test out The Secret. I often went to the mall and there was never anywhere to park, so instead of getting frustrated I focused on what I wanted, and that was a close parking spot. Sure enough I got a parking spot right in front of the mall. Coincidence I said.

Later I lost my job and had $300 to my name and couldn’t afford to pay rent. My roommate at the time lost his job as well and decided “Lets not pay rent, lets invest to make more money”. The old me would of thought he was crazy and said no, but the reinvented me agreed. In shock, my roommate was surprised at my instant approval since I was usually a “Debbie Downer”. I introduced him to The Secret as well and we both followed it whole heartedly.

My roommate and I decided to plan a party to gather up funds to assure we can pay our rent and have money to reinvest. Later we found a venue and spoke to the manager to book a date for our event. In meeting with the manager he explained that to rent out the venue it would cost $1500. We only had $500 between the two of us. Instead of walking out with our tails between our legs, I explained to the manager that if he would let us hold the date with $300, we would surely pay the rest on the day of the event. Drawn by our passion, he agreed.

The event was a success! Over 500 people showed up at $10 a piece, which means we made an astonishing $5000! Minus expenses we walked out with a $3500 profit from an idea and positive thinking. That event changed my life forever.

From that point on I never looked back and stayed thinking positive thoughts and putting them into action. I became one of the top promoters in the state and also found love, a beautiful home and financial stability, all because The Secret.
