I grew up with a spiritualist family. I was always told that words are living things. I had always been exposed to the mysteries of life like a family of gypsies. So the secret was nothing new to me, however I never had it organized into thought and explained the way it was with this book. To hear it out loud in an understandable manner makes a big difference.

I was a recent graduate, having the hardest time find employment. I finally landed a job with a temp agency at a non profit. It was temp work that was supposed to go full time. The job fell through and I was devastated because I had really gotten attached to the position and the idea that it would be mine. I felt sabotaged by the whole process (too long of a story to explain) I got depressed because it took so long just to find that job.

My friend suggested The Secret to me. I went online and found the audible version of it. The first time listening to it, I felt I was magnetized by it, a boost of energy and self esteem came through. I remembered that I am a child of the universal spirit and I am allowed to be spoiled and have what I want, it’s my inheritance from my father and mother God.

So I went to bed excited every night and although worried about my unemployment situation I had this confidence that I could change that. The first week after hearing the secret I decided I needed more work and money through my temp agency. I went to bed one night excited, emotional and feeling it, just like The Secret suggested. The next morning I got a call for a job assignment. I thought wow, this is great. So when that assignment was over I went to bed again excited and happy and emotional about a new job coming. The next day I was called again for another job assignment. Every time I tried this bedtime trick, I got calls for job assignments with my temp agencies. So far for 3 months I have been working temp positions. Now I’m working on pulling to myself permanent full time employment, not just temp work.

I decided to take it a step further I tried with my friend to bring something small to us. We decided on a white rose. For about a week we waiting trying to get this flower, my friend continued to get flowers every color but not yet white. I started thinking hey I’m not getting it yet. About 2 weeks went by and while going to work it occurred to me that I haven’t got my white rose yet. So I said to my self, “hey universe whats up with that, I want my white flower” later that night while returning home from a class I decided to take a different rout home on the bus. While riding the bus… Guess what? A young girl gets on the bus with one single white rose. There was my message from the universe. Although I didn’t have it in my hand, all I needed was to see it for confirmation.

As my pastor says , “it works when you work it”.
