I recently resigned from my last job, without having given any thought to how I was going to provide for my family and pay the bills. I ended up doing a lot of soul searching as I got to grips with finding another job. My thoughts were that I needed to look at giving myself multiple streams of income so that in the future I would not find myself in the situation I was in then.

Through staying positive at the time, through reading a book about not worrying about things not in your control, I got over the first hurdle of talking to people and to a degree getting resolution to my immediate problem of paying my mortgage, and came to an agreement with the bank to take a payment holiday while I sort myself out.

Next by chance I found a book on what to do to become Rich by Paul McKenna, a hypnotist from England who is also a sort of Personal Coach. The book was a revelation and included a self hypnosis CD that was fantastic, and got me onto my self-confident journey.

Next totally out of the blue I came across the book The Secret at, of all places, Wal Mart (or in England Asda). It has totally changed my life. The first major change came after writing down things. In my contacts in Outlook I took out my old job details and changed them to the company that I had made an application to for a job. An offer of a job was confirmed on 30th May 2008. What more proof do I need?

I am also actively spreading the word; I have bought a very good friend a copy of the book and am waiting to find out what he makes of it.
