The end of the 2011 my mom and step father moved so they gave me their old car. It had been shoved by a truck into metal fencing of a small bridge some months before, so it was literally sliced. The front driver’s side fender all the way to the back of the vehicle, like a tin-opener would slice a can. Obviously my little car, affectionately known to myself and the rest of the household as Scar, got looks and stares, even a few laughs, from other motorists. Either way, Scar took me from A to B.

A few years back my cousin invited me to come watch some movies, one of them being The Secret. I was totally uninterested. I turned it down because I was busy with chores and frankly he never had the best taste in movies. At the beginning of 2012 I went to the video store and a certain documentary caught my eye. Being curious, I got it. It opened my mind up to what my thoughts are capable of creating and manifesting my reality! I was instantly hooked. I downloaded The Science Of Getting Rich and practiced the teachings. I was content with Scar but I really wanted a new car, so I started religiously entering a “win a car competition” I had seen online. But throughout the whole duration of the 3 month competition, I used to Google the car model, check the specs, visualize myself driving that car, and feel the gratitude of having it.

August 2012 at 12:39 in the morning I received a call from the magazine execs. “You are the winner of a brand new MINI ONE”! I could not believe it! I broke down in tears, winning a car worth R 200000 is unheard of! That amazing burst of gratitude I felt that day is something I will never forget.
