When You Let Go, Things Come To You!

Sydney, AustraliaI am a strong believer of The Secret and the gratitude practice.
I was introduced to The Secret by my roommate in 2008 when I was almost a teenager and struggling with my relationships. It was like a magic wand and a solution to all of my troubles. Ever since then I have been a firm believer in The Secret and the law of attraction. I have been able to achieve many things, including marriage to my husband, which had almost seemed impossible at one point. This story in particular is about my relocation from India to Australia.
My husband was working in the US for 4 years and I was in India. We wanted to move to a place where we could have a good work-life balance and an overall good life. After a lot of research, we applied for a permanent resident visa for Australia. After a year long process of paperwork, we finally submitted our application. The anticipation was killing us as the process was taking a really long time. I had imagined my whole future life. I had a picture of Sydney as my screen saver. I told my friends here to look for job options for me. I had told everyone that I was moving and even resigned from my job. Even after so many strong steps, there was no sign or news about my visa.
Meanwhile, my husband came back from the US and started working in India, but he was about 300 kilometers away from where I was. Even though it was a senior position for him, he had no work-life balance and was struggling to cope with the work politics. So, it was a situation full of anxiety and frustration for us. Since I had resigned from my job 3 months back and there was no sign of my visa, I didn’t know what to do.
All of a sudden, my husband got a job offer from Nepal and they were ready to sponsor my stay and travel as well. We then forgot about our Aussie visas and were thanking God for giving us an opportunity to finally live together after 4 and a half years.
After reaching Nepal, I started practicing The Magic and within 12 days I had a job with a reputed company, in my hand. I was told that the position was created exclusively when the GM and the corporate team saw my resume. I had all the more reason to feel happy and grateful to the Universe. By now we had almost forgotten about our Aussie relocation and were enjoying the new city and our togetherness.
Then within 6 months of our relocation, one day my husband sent me a letter that he had received from the Embassy. We just couldn’t believe our eyes. We had been granted the visas and had to be in Sydney within a month’s time!
All our prayers were answered. Working in Nepal had helped both of us to save a lot of money. We were fully prepared to take the plunge. A lot of people told us that it would be a struggle to find a job but my belief had skyrocketed by then and I knew that both of us would get good jobs there. And again, within 20 days of us arriving there, we both had respectable jobs. I received things when I had let go of my fears and anxiety and was living in the present moment.
To everyone, my advice would be:
1. Be thankful for what you have and include gratitude in your daily life.
2. Make your goals absolutely clear and visualize them whenever you can.
3. Speak to people with a positive outlook in life. For anyone talking negative, don’t contradict them but think of them as motivation to think positively.
4. Enjoy your present.
5. Include one spiritual activity in your daily life, it could be meditation, helping others, chanting,, etc. It will strengthen your belief.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
