Today, I have for the first time in a long time felt utter joy and excitement for my future. I realize now I make my own path in life and there is nothing I put my mind to that I cannot achieve.

I am a teacher who has only fairly recently graduated from a post grad degree. I love what I do and feel this is the field I am meant to be in. However, there have been many times I doubted it as being possible for me due to frustration from a seeming lack of jobs and opportunities especially for inexperienced teachers. I also had my heart set on working in a very particular type of school, very few of which operate in this country, and of those, vacancies are scarce particularly for someone like me without the background experience and training.

Surprisingly, I was able to get some interviews but always missed out on a job. I WAS disappointed each time but tried to focus on the fact that the Universe was leading me to something even better. I got clear about exactly every detail I wanted, even if I didn’t know how it would be possible. I also was sure to focus on what I wanted and not simply what I wanted to avoid.

Today I am so proud and overjoyed to share that after only about 6 months (although felt much longer), I have been offered my dream full time permanent role in a great school. It is everything I had hoped for. Although I was told that I would have to work casually for years and even then have little chance for permanency, I refused to accept that knowing there had to be something better for me.

Don’t give up on your dreams and desires because whatever you think you become.
