Ever since I read and watched the movie of The Secret, I started to apply it. Soon I got everything I wanted. My dream job, way of life, everything. I can’t write all the miracles here. So let me just write only one of the miracles.

I know that no one could imagine a person from Ethiopia, a country used as an example to describe what poor or famine is in a dictionary, could have the most expensive laptop, a MacBook Pro.

Here is the thing. I needed this laptop. I knew it’s so nice. I have seen researchers coming from the States to do fieldwork in Ethiopia using it, and I loved it.

I started to think about it and attract it. My friends always say me “you wish man”. And I say” Yes I wish, and I am sure I will get it one day, but don’t ask me how”.

After sometime, believe it or not, my girlfriend got a chance to go to India for short term training and her company covered her expenses including allowance for her stay in India. She wanted to buy a laptop and sent an email to me to guide her with the specifications. I started to Google and asked a friend to help me. All of a sudden a friend called me and said: tell her to come back to Addis with the money and she could buy it from here. I was like, Okay, and sent an email to her again. I told her come here, there are more options here with a cheaper price. She came back and we went to that friend.

He said I have MacBooK Pro. I was like OKAAAY!!!

My girlfriend knows that I am dreaming and dying to have one. So she first thought and said it is hard to coup up with the OS and also it is expensive. Then my friend said “No it’s not”. He said a friend from the States gave him the laptop and he wants to sell it for an ordinary laptop price for you my friend.

Boom. He knows that if my girlfriend buys it he knows that it is almost mine!

So she bought it and I gave her my HP laptop and she gave me the Mac! WOW!

I am so grateful!!!!!!
