What A Fantastic Life!!!
Submitted by: Christina Ward
I am a 43 year old mum of 3 little ones, aged 2,4 and 6. I was born in London and and am now living in Austria with husband and family.
I grew up in London, quite a sensitive soul and was quite bombarded with all kinds of influences. Always feeling quite stressed and overwhelmed. I worked but never seemed to have any money and couldn’t imagine ever owning a house or having a family, let alone getting married.
A friend sent me The Secret CD in the post and that’s how it all started. I started to thank the Universe for everything as though I already had it and realised the beauty of being happy for anyone who already had what I wished for. It started with being grateful for my perfect man and I was truly happy for my younger sister when she got married to her perfect man. Then the Universe started its work.
I just ended a relationship and went to visit a friend in Austria and after a wonderful week we decided to see each other again. Now we have been married for 8 years and have 3 beautiful children. We were both “anti-commitment, travelly” types, so we had no savings and no idea how we would buy a house and didn’t like the idea of getting into debt. I was pregnant and we were living in a house share with 3 young lads.
I would find myself saying “Thank you for my perfect house and perfect family” and getting a little squeeze of excitement each time I visualised me and my family, always with 3 kids, holding hands in a nice big garden.
One day my husband went to see the bank about a loan for a house we had found. It was way cheaper than the ones we had found so far, so we thought a loan would be no problem. He came back and said that the most the bank could give us was the very least we would need, and that ideally we needed a much larger deposit. We needed ‘free money from thin air’ as he put it. I told him not to worry, as The Secret says not to put restrictions on where things should come from.
So that night we watched The Secret together with my husband watching it for the first time. The very next day he got a call from a TV company to say that they wanted him to go on “Who wants to be a Millionaire?” He had applied some months before and forgotten all about it!
Two months later he went on the show and won exactly the amount that we would have borrowed from the bank, and he won it exactly 2 weeks before we were to exchange contracts on the new house! The money he won was transferred into his account the day before the birth of our first child. Amazing!
I kept my ‘perfect house’ vision as it was an old farmhouse that we bought and it’s still evolving as I type but it is the perfect house for us! It has a lovely garden for the kids and a veggie patch for us all and it is a short walk to a lake, what more could we ask for???
I kept thanking the Universe for all the wonderful people we would meet here and I am so very grateful for all of our beautiful friends and the lovely people surrounding us. We both realise the importance of balance, both spiritual and material and I am quite devoted to dishing out love whenever and wherever I can!!! It is so empowering to realise that whatever is in our lives is created by us and can be changed by us. Trust and faith can replace worry and fear and you have all you need. There’s more to the story and mini successes within the story itself, which on their own prove the effectiveness of positive thinking, love and gratitude. I’m sure there’ll be much more to come but thank you, thank you, thank you that we have all we need and always will.
