Vision Boards Work!
Submitted by: Monica
ColoradoI've been practicing The Secret since 2008.
At the beginning of the year, a colleague suggested a group of us make vision boards. I dutifully cut and pasted and added stickers and added pictures of me in places I wanted to visit.
I also started a gratitude journal. I try to write in it every night, but I do not worry if it doesn’t happen. I stopped for a few months and felt icky. Once I started again, I felt better right away. I do it after I get ready for bed. I have a noise app with pleasant sounds and an unlit candle that smells delicious. This routine has really helped my sleep issues and I drop off within minutes of going to bed now.
Fast forward a few months later and I can see so many things have come into being already.
My boyfriend and I had talked about buying a house but we didn’t have the money for it. I was going to change professions because I couldn’t afford my sales job anymore. Then he got a huge raise and I was able to keep my job. He also decided we should buy a place. I’m writing this from the office in our new home.
We also needed a new mattress and couch. Since we were moving anyway, we went ahead and bought new ones for our new place.
I wanted new nightstands, but the ones we wanted were out of stock. Then I found a pair of used ones for $10 each. They were dusty but perfect. A quick swipe with a duster and antibacterial wipes and they were as good as new.
I had two coworkers I didn’t like a whole lot and I focused on thinking about how happy they would be working elsewhere. They left the same week!
My car was fine, but starting to have some problems. I wanted a new one, but couldn’t justify buying one. I felt gratitude for the car I had and the one I would get in the future. Then my car developed a problem that would cost $2k to fix, plus it had several other issues. I was able to trade it in for more than I owed and buy a new one. I love my new car and am thankful every time I get in it.
I’ve been focusing on my health and some stomach issues. I finally narrowed down a major cause as specific food and cut it out of my diet. I feel so much better and can function every day now.
Now I’m focusing on increasing my sales. I am working on feeling the joy when I make my clients happy and what I’ll do with the money that I make.
I have a little bit of embroidery that just says, “Thank you” by my bed and I look at it every night and think of something I’m thankful for. I do the same thing every morning.
I highly suggest vision boards and a gratitude journal. Mine is just a notebook and pen. I write at least six things I’m grateful for, either for things that I have already manifested or that will manifest soon. Thank you for The Secret!
