Ten years ago, a close friend introduced me to a book called The Secret and it was all about the law of attraction, which is the idea that we can bring positive things into our lives by focusing on them and visualizing them. My friend suggested the book to me after I confided in her about the difficulties I was facing in my life at the time.

Since then, I had not been consistent with practicing the law of attraction, but it has definitely helped me to be more peaceful and grateful. A few months ago, I started a new habit of writing down things I am thankful for every morning. One of these things that I wrote down was “unexpected money coming my way.”

I had been playing the lottery with three numbers for some time and I had never won anything significant. Despite this, I continued playing and practicing gratitude. One day, while playing the lottery, I accidentally pressed the wrong number and ended up winning a large sum of money, R5500. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

This experience showed me that the Universe is always ready to grant my wishes. It also showed me that sometimes we don’t even need to be perfect in following the law of attraction. The Universe still responds to our intentions and desires.
