True Story

CaliforniaHere is my story:
Last week my boyfriend (the sweetest man in the world) asked if I’d like to join him at the PGA tournament in Florida. This is a really big deal because it’s sponsored by the company we work for and admins (me) are not invited! He had to go to the top of his department and get permission for me to join him.
The day he got approval from his boss, he called my extension and told me the good news. He also reminded me of the dates, May 11th to the 15th. OMG! I just realized it is the same weekend I’m supposed to host a workshop for our philanthropy group, which I’m chair of, and the company’s foundation, and we’re all supposed to volunteer at the Special Olympics. My heart sunk into my stomach. My boyfriend and I were so upset. As we talked about it over lunch, I said to him, “I really want to go with you, but I can’t let these other people down.” My stomach hurt and I was so sad. Then I realized I needed to relax and just know that it was all going to work out for the best. So I said it out loud, “Everything is going to work out.” At that point I started feeling better.
When I got back to the office, I emailed the head of our foundation and he called me back within minutes. After talking to him, we decided to move the workshop to October, which worked out better for everyone involved! Now I can go to Florida in May! I am also able to open up the volunteer spots at the Special Olympics to all of our employees, and since S.O. only wanted 20 volunteers, I’ll be able to fill those spots easy!
I felt so good and I was so happy and thankful that it all fell into place. I knew I couldn’t let those bad feelings take over. I had to calm down and relax and know in my heart that it was all ok. And it was!
Thank you Rhonda! You are making the world a happier place! Now the rest of us can too!
