True love crosses all barriers
Submitted by: Shivani
SydneyI am 31 years old and I am a medical practitioner.
I am Shivani from Sydney. I came here in 2010. I had a bitter past; I got married when I was 27 and got divorced after two months. After that I planned to move to Sydney. I met a guy here after a few months and I felt I was falling in love with him. He was totally different from me, still I liked to talk to him, meet him, and go out with him. I told him everything about my past as I didnt want to hurt him or cheat him as I could feel his love for me. He is an Indian. He proposed to me and we started seeing each other.
We wanted to get married to each other but his family refused because of cultural and social issues in our country. We had numerous fights and misunderstandings and I lost all hope of getting married to him. Every time he talked with his family they said, No. I was totally broke, and I said yes to another boy just because of my anger. When he came to know about it, we again had fights, but we realised we cant live without each other. And then it was a total surprise, he announced about our marriage the very next day and his family also agreed. It was a miracle.
I was sitting in my room and just found a piece of paper on which I wrote: “I want him to tell everyone about our relationship before November 10.” And he did it!
I used to read The Secret for the last two years but couldn’t apply it completely. It is the human mind, and when love is not shown, negative thoughts and doubts come very easily. I am living happily with him now and we are getting married with the consent of our families. I believe I am the luckiest girl; he has all the qualities of the person I made a list of.
Thanks a lot to The Secret. Now I gave him The Secret and he is reading and believing it. I also thank God for being with us.
